Babcock State Park
In the wooded highlands above the New River Gorge, rustic cabins, a swimming pool, and a working gristmill attract seasonal visitors to Babcock State Park. Hiking, fishing, and cross country skiing draw sports enthusiasts in winter. Adventurous hikers may follow a remote park service road to the ghost town of Sewell on New River.


Bluestone State Park
Bluestone State Park offers over 2,100 acres of rugged, heavily wooded, mountainous terrain for the recreation of guests and residents of southern West Virginia. Located just five miles south of the New River Gorge National River at Hinton, WV, this park's added attraction is that it lies adjacent to Bluestone Lake, West Virginia's third largest body of water. Hiking trails, a swimming pool, boat launching facilities, marina and a summer nature/recreation program create a well-rounded array of activities.


Camp Creek State Park
Consisting of nearly 5,300 acres of forest land Camp Creek State Park features camping, picnicking, game courts, fishing and hiking. A hunter will find many species of game including deer, native wild turkey, ruffed grouse and a variety of small game. Camp Creek, from which these areas take their name, is one of the best stocked trout streams in the state and can offer hours of fishing enjoyment. The park is situated just two miles off Interstate 77 at Exit 20, Camp Creek State Park is an oasis for the vacationer.


Carnifex Ferry State Park
The site of a major battle during the Civil War, Carnifex Ferry Battlefield preserves an integral part of the historic heritage of West Virginia. Hiking trails to scenic overlooks, picknicking, game courts and a playground are also featured at this historical state park overlooking the Gauley River Canyon.


Hawks Nest State Park
The towering rock edifice, for which the park is named, has been visited since prehistoric Native Americans entered Appalachia. Today a resort lodge, with an aerial tram, perches upon the cliffs above the New River Gorge. Hikers and anglers visit the park year round. The park's tram open weekends May - Memorial Day, daily until Labor Day, weekends through Sept., daily through the last weekend in Oct. Weekdays 11 a.m.-6:45 p.m. Closed Mondays except holidays.


Little Beaver State Park
The woodland trails surrounding Little Beaver Lake explore an upland of rhododendron thickets and ancient stands of white pine. Local anglers fish for bass and bluegill along the lake. The park is also near several golf courses and the NPS Grandview and Glade Creek recreation areas. Primarily a day-use park, Little Beaver State Park also offers lake swimming, paddleboat rentals, picnic shelters, and a small museum of local and natural history.


Pipestem State Park
A windswept plateau in south-eastern West Virginia provides the setting for this state park's astonishing array of accommodations and recreational facilities, and the unique name for the resort is taken from the native pipestem bush whose hollow, woody stems were used by the early white settlers in the making of pipes.


Twin Falls Resort
A short distance from the New River Gorge, set in the rugged mountains of Southern West Virginia, Twin Falls Resort State Park is the ideal site for nature seekers. Visitors here may find overnight accommodations ranging from a 20-room lodge located on the mountain top to secluded cottages and deluxe and standard campsites. For those wanting a challenge, Twin Falls provides a sprawling 18-hole, Par 71 championship golf course. Other leisure activities include nine scenic hiking trails, picnicking, swimming in an outdoor pool or just relaxing with a piece of history at the Pioneer Farm.
