Rend Trail (Thurmond-Minden Trail)

The gradual grade of this popular New River Gorge trail makes for easy hiking and biking and provides spectacular views of Thurmond, WV, and the New River. The trail follows the former route of the Rend Branch of the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway (C&O), crossing several trestles along the way.

Notes: The rail lines in the Thurmond and Dunloup Creek areas are active. Stay off the railroad tracks and away from trains! As always, access roads to trails in the New River Gorge region can be narrow and winding: please be prepared to use caution.
